Keeping your pet’s vaccines up to date is vital in Australia to prevent outbreaks of contagious diseases. Below is a general vaccination schedule recommended for dogs and cats, based on Australian veterinary guidelines.
Note: Always follow the specific advice of your vet, as individual needs can vary.
The Australian Veterinary Association’s vaccination policy and the World Small Animal Veterinary Association’s 2024 vaccination guidelines both recommend the core vaccines for every dog and cat, and leave the choice of any other vaccine to you and your vet, based on your pet’s health, age and lifestyle.

Why have your pet vaccinated at home?
Your pet stays in their own home, with no carrier, no car trip and no waiting room full of other animals. That matters most for dogs and cats that dread the clinic. Dr Kristina Fisher comes with Andrew Colquhoun, a registered nurse, so there are two people to settle your pet. Several pets in one household can be seen in the same visit.
What happens during a mobile vaccination visit?
You request an appointment online and let us know your pet's vaccination history. On the day we give you an estimated arrival time, so have a quiet room or a secure outdoor area ready. Your pet has a brief check-in before the vaccination, and the vaccination certificate is emailed to you afterwards, along with any referral or script your pet needs.
Which areas do you visit for vaccinations?
We visit Launceston and its suburbs, the Tamar out to Greens Beach and Low Head, Longford and the towns around it, and the East Coast from Scamander down to Little Swanport. Each area has set visit days and its own travel fee, and our service area page lists every suburb with its visit days.
Do vaccine appointments include a consultation?
Yes. Every vaccination includes a brief check-in of about 15 minutes at no extra cost. If you want to talk through another concern while we are there, an extended consult can be added at a reduced fee of $62.50. The travel fee for your suburb is added to the vaccination price.
